
Simple cuboidal epithelia are like "cubes" and usually there is as much cytoplasm over the nucleus as there is under it. The above section shows simple cuboidal epithelia in the thyroid gland. The following photos from your kidney slides show examples of simple cuboidal and simple squamous epithelium. Be able to identify both types.
